Familienbasierte Prävention bei Kindern und Jugendlichen

Das Strengthening Families Program

Abstract

Fragestellung: Wie evidenzbasiert sind familienbasierte Programme zur selektiven Suchtprävention? Lässt sich ein vorbildhaftes Programm identifizieren? Methodik: Überblick über entsprechende Ansätze und Programm-Merkmale als Ergebnis einer systematischen Literaturrecherche in verschiedenen Datenbanken. Ergebnisse: Das Strengthening Families Program 10–14 aus Iowa/USA (SFP 10–14) ist das wohl zurzeit best evaluierte familienbasierte universelle Präventionsprogramm; so ließen sich nachhaltige Effekte auch im 6-Jahres-Follow-up nachweisen. Schlussfolgerungen: Die kultursensitive Adaptation und Evaluation von SFP 10–14 für die Bundesrepublik kann die Prävention von Suchtstörungen wirkungsvoll ergänzen. Eine Adaptation für den deutschen Sprachraum hat verschiedene kultursensitive Aspekte zu berücksichtigen sowie den Umstand, dass SFP 10–14 aufwändig durchzuführen ist.


Family-Based Prevention in Children and Adolescents – Implementation of the Strengthening Families Program in Germany

Aims: To what extent are family-based programs for the prevention of substance use disorder (SUD) in children and adolescents evidence-based? Is it possible to set up a model program? Method: A systematic overview of evidence-based programs and their characteristics. Results: To date, the Strengthening Families Program 10–14 from Iowa/USA (SFP 10–14) is presumably the best-evaluated family-based SUD prevention program. Its long-range effects could be demonstrated even in a 6-year follow-up study. Conclusions: The adoption of SFP 10–14 in Germany can complement German SUD prevention. Still there are several culturally sensitive issues to be considered as well as the fact that SFP 10–14 interventions require a great organizational efforts and financial funding.
