| Abstract:
An overview is presented of the current knowledge of the flowering process and its controlling mechanisms, in the cultivated strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.). This includes discussion of the influence of genetic background, and in particular, the importance of photoperiod and temperature factors. Special reference is made to the results of more recent studies, together with the potential for a molecular-genetic approach in future work. | |
