본 연구는 고등학생의 자살사고를 예측하는 변인들의 독립적인 효과를 검증하는 것이며, 특히 다른 변인들을 통제한 상태에서 청소년 자살에 대한 진로성숙도의 독립적인 영향력을 확인하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 위해 한국보건사회연구원의 7차 복지패널자료 중 청소년 자료(496명)를 활용하였다. 위계적회귀분석의 1단계에서 성별 변인을 투입하였고, 2단계에서는 정서적 문제(우울과 불안), 비행 및 학업스트레스를 투입하였고, 3단계에서는 진로성숙도를 투입하였다. 회귀분석 결과, 성별, 정서적 문제, 비행, 학업스트레스가 고등학생의 자살사고에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 여학생이 남학생보다 자살사고 점수가 더 높았고, 정서적 문제와 비행문제가 클수록, 학업스트레스가 클수록 자살사고 점수가 더 높았다. 특히, 이러한 변인들을 모두 통제한 상태에서 진로성숙도의 독립적인 영향력이 유의했으며, 진로성숙도가 높을수록 자살사고 점수가 더 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 제안한 최종 회귀식의 설명량은 24.1%로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 고등학생 시기의 자살사고를 이해하기위해서는 이들의 우울 및 불안 수준과 함께, 비행 행동 및 학업스트레스의 정도를 종합적으로 고려해야 함을 시사한다. 특히, 이시기의 중요한 발달과업 중하나인 진로 탐색 및 선택과 관련된 진로성숙도의 수준을 높일 수 있도록 부모와 학교가 조력하는 것이 청소년기의 자살을 예방하는데 일조할 수 있음을 시사한다.

This study identified predictors of suicidal idea of high school students, and specially verified an independent impact of career maturity on suicidal thought. This research used the 7th welfare panel data of KIHSA(Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs). Results of hierarchical regression analysis showed that gender, emotional problem(depression and anxiety), delinquency, academic stress and vocational maturity independently influenced on suicidal idea. Greater emotional problem and severe delinquent and higher academic stress were related to more suicidal idea and higher career maturity was associated with fewer suicidal thought. And, female students reported more suicidal idea than male students. Total explanatory variance of final regression model was 24.1 percents. The results of this study imply that clinicians and researchers should consider together emotional problem, delinquency, and academic stress to more deeply understand for teenager’s suicide thought. Especially, helping of parent and school for increasing career maturity may be important to prevent suicide of adolescents
