Searching Mass-Balance Analysis to Find the Composition of Martian Blueberries: Database of Complete Solution Sets

Included here is a database of complete solution sets of mass-balance equations. This database was produced for the paper "Searching Mass Balance Analysis to Find the Composition of Martian Blueberries." We recommend you read that paper before using this database. The solution sets "unmix" mixed signals in the form of mixed-material composition distributions. These mixed-materials are mixtures of Martian blueberries (hematite spherules found on the Meridiani Planum), basaltic soils and dusty soils. The point of the "unmixing" is to infer the composition distributions of blueberries. The database also includes a file containing the mixed-material composition distributions that are analyzed and, also, filtering composition distributions for basaltic soils, and dusty soils. These basaltic soil and dusty soil distributions are used to create filters to plug into the mass-balance equations to subtract-off the basaltic and dust signals to uncover the blueberry signals. A README.txt file is included that provides full-documentation on the formatting of complete solution set records. Also a short perl script, simple.parse.pl, is included to help users parse the large database files to extract data to answer user questions. (Users will have to customize this script to answer particular questions they may want to pose.)
