1.phyllodocida_species_subspecies-2020-09-06.xlsx: A download of the World Register of Marine Species containing all species and subspecies within the Phyllodocida (Annelida), excluding however fossils and species with an unclear taxonomic status. Data reflect the status of WoRMS as of 2020-09-06.

2.OBIS_GBIF_occ_2020-04-21.csv: A preprocessed download of occurrence records of Phyllodocida from the Ocean Biodiversity Information System (OBIS) and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) (an updated version with current OBIS data can be also created through the script "data_retrieval_and_preparation.r" )

3.occs_per_realm.xlsx: Occurrence records per marine realm. Can also be created through the script "data_retrieval_and_preparation.r" but included here for convenience

4.species_per_realm.xlsx: Species per marine realm. Can also be created through the script "data_retrieval_and_preparation.r" but included here for convenience

5.realm_names.xlsx: List of the names of realms and subrealms used in the script, used for labelling of plots

6. alien_all.xlsx: List of non-indigenous species per geographic region, compiled from literature

7. bold_distribution.xlsx: Barcode distribution data

8. data_retrieval_and_preparation.r: An R script which was used to download and preprocess data from WoRMS, OBIS, GBIF

9. analyses.r: An R script used to conduct analyses and graphs for the paper

10.CL-MTAPP.pdf: Checklist BOLD dataset containing species that are considered invasive in certain regions. Assembled from various databases and recent papers (references in table 1)
