The escalating prevalence of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in healthcare industry is transforming the healthcare services received by individuals. But the success of IT such as EMRs exchange is depending on acceptance and adoption by both healthcare providers and individuals. Though in order to assure the successful implementation, the factors hindering acceptance of EMRs exchange must be understood. In the current literature, factors hindering individuals' adoption of healthcare technologies is under-studied especially factors related to individuals' personality. So, the purpose of the study is to examine whether personality traits influence on individuals' concern for health information privacy. Thus, we develop theoretical framework consisting of the Big Five theory of personality traits (agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, extraversion, and intellect) and EMR awareness.
