The impact of hybrid instruction is only beneficial to students attending a university in their immediate vicinity. Although having the face-to-face interaction may be beneficial for the instructor, it is not necessarily a determining factor of success.  Students in the online classroom have the option of speaking to his/her instructor through Skype, webinars, and by telephone. Documents, help guides, learning assistance, and educational resources can all be accessed online. Although hybrid gives the instructor a great bridge to physically demonstrate and create in front of students, it is not a guarantee students will show. In the full-time online classroom, students can "show" when is convenient to them. For hybrid instructors who may be concerned about becomming a full-time on-line instructor, The Educational Technology Journal relates a plethora of information to engage the on-line learner.  This is an exceptional resource, one I put above many. Jamie McKenzie emphasizes, "Students share responsibility for assessing progress and quality" (1998,PG. 33)
