The International Journal of Plant Biology (ISSN: 2037-0164) was launched in 2010 and publishes international and multidisciplinary research in the different subdisciplines of plant biology [1]. The focus of this journal is to provide an open access platform for publication and debate, encompassing all areas which fall within the scope of plant science.
The International Journal of Plant Biology was published by PAGEPress and will be published by MDPI as of 24 January 2022 [2].
Dr. Adriano Sofo, from the University of Basilicata (Matera, Italy), has served as Editor-in-Chief of the journal since 2014 and has kindly agreed to continue to serve in this role.
We are delighted to take over the publication of the International Journal of Plant Biology and will ensure that the journal keeps providing an open access platform in which the scientific community devoted to the study of plant biology can publish and exchange ideas.
The International Journal of Plant Biology complements the MDPI portfolio of journals in this field, especially Plants [3].
Starting in 2022, the International Journal of Plant Biology will change publication frequency from annual to quarterly.
